FAQ
Who are the workshops for? The workshops are aimed at many different levels of DJ experience: A: Beginner - never DJed before looking to learn the basics. B. DJs looking to develop their creative performance skills and learn how to get (more gigs). C. For DJs already DJing, who are happy to revisit some skills and want to network with other artists and learn how to get more gigs. (Depending on the different experience levels that apply each month, we may run separate sessions for beginners and advanced DJs). 16+ are welcome, although please be aware clubs that have openings for slots may require 18+ DJs. Those who are neurodivergent or have additional needs are welcome, we can put support in place to make sure the workshops are accessible, just drop us an email at info@youniquemusic.net to let us know if you required additional support or have any questions.
How many people will be on the workshop? Up to 15 people will be on the workshop at any time and will split into groups of 3-5 for the practical sessions. We aim to have one tutor per DJ room so between 3-5 people with one tutor at a time. We'll come together as a group at the beginning and end of the session and for any guest talks. The online prep sessions will be small groups or 121 and we'll be booking those in on day one!
I'm neurodiverse or have additional support needs, can you help? YES! Just let us know in an email at info@youniquemusic.net before the workshop and we'll do our best to support you. Euphonique and Tank Howls are both qualified teachers who have trained in supporting people with additional needs or those that are neurodiverse and we're keen to make the learning process and workshops as accessible, fun and engaging as possible for everyone.
How will the workshops run? They are two hours, we'll start together as group discuss the plan for the week, do a group demo then split off into smaller groups to get hands on, working with a tutor on the skill that week. When we have a special guests, there will be time for Q&A or short talk at the end of the sessions. Online sessions will be booked on days we are not in-person and will take place on Zoom, we'll book these in on day one.
I'm unsure! What should I do? No stress - we have your back! Some options: - Drop us an email at info@youniquemusic.net with any questions. - Come along coming along to the taster day to meet us, ask questions and get a feel for what it is all about!
